Film is Not Dead Calendar
Heather Champ is a Bay Area photographer (and a friend of mine) who recently rediscovered film. Her wall calendar is a pleasant return to a time when we had to wait for things to develop.

Sharps Guck in a Puck
This makes a great gift because lots of men won’t buy themselves fancy grooming products. My friend Pete has been looking for some good hair styling gel, so I asked him to check out this cream intstaed. Here’s what he said:
“I like it a lot. I am very picky about this stuff too. I hate difficult-to-use, greasy hair products, many of which leave my scalp feeling nasty (read oily) after application. This particular product is great because it doesn’t require gobs and gobs to get desired results, most importantly hold and manageability. It doesn’t feel overly greasy or oily either, and it’s versatile in that I’ve tried it dry with wet hair or wet with dry hair (I wet it with just a few drops of water making it really easy to use.) And it smells good dammit.”

Scharffen Berger Chocolate Covered Ginger
Crystalized ginger covered in 99 percent cacao unsweetend chocolate. The bite of unsweeted chocolate is an excellent complement to the spicy, sweet center. I keep them in my desk drawer.
They’re great with sparkling wine, or have a few with your evening coffee – so flavorful that three or four will satisfy. Of course, that need not stop you from pouring the entire container into your mouth.
