If one is in the market for a "tactical" frame-pack of collossal size, the Eberlestock Operator and Phantom are interchangeably wonderful products for their wildly-specific functions. Both bags are intended for front-loaded use, and feature a hardy plasticized mesh "rack," which support their enormous heft (even in their empty states), as well as a waist-belt, two shoulder straps, and outboard hydration pockets.

The Phantom's hydration kit is slightly more developed than the Operator's, with an additional three-liter extensions, which can alternatively be used as a radio pocket. The Operator primarily differs from the Phantom in its inclusion of a pull-out rain cover, water-resistant construction, and additional GSTC Butt Cover for its weapons scabbard.
