Reviews Summary

Here's what the reviewers think about the Montane Cobra:

Reviewers like these things about the Montane Cobra

  • Simple in design but light and tough in performance.
  • Made with three types of fabrics. Main body is made of water resistant and tough nylon. You won’t need a rain cover in most of the situations as it beads well in rain. Back is made of soft fabric which is non-abrasive. And side pockets are stretchy fabric so you can easily squeeze out water bottle.
  • It can withstand a lot of wear and tear when it is packed with kit. It seems to have all of its major points of attachment sewed well with reliable and durable outer. Zips are simple to handle and solid even when you are wearing gloves.
  • The sack has technical holding system with which walking poles and two axes can be attached.
  • Very comfortable waist and chest straps as well as hip belts. Padding is wide enough, though not very thick so it distributes the weight well. The hip belt also comes with useful zipped pocket and gear loop.
  • Shoulder strap is easier to unclip and clip using one hand as it stays mostly in one place.
  • The elastic chest strap comes in handy with a clip to prevent hard plastic digging, if any.
  • Due to less moving or bending parts, it is less likely to break.

Reviewers don't like these things

  • It is not large enough for expeditions that last several days, though it is fine for late night bivying.
