Osprey has quite a bit of experience in terms of understanding what makes a great backpack. The Manta and Stratos are intended for different users but still manage to maintain the level of quality Osprey is known for. The Manta is a day backpack meant for the students who need to carry their textbooks. It's nylon mesh makes it great for carrying heavy books to and fro.

The Stratos is more of a hiking backpack for those looking to spend a lot of time outdoors. The hip belt and harnesses ease the stress off of your shoulders and onto your back. This makes it much easier for you to walk long distances with it on your back. Its design makes the Stratos too awkward for those who might want to use this on a daily basis but perfect for trips.

You can use either of these backpacks for the great outdoors but the experience you'll have is going to be different. The Manta is for a casual and short outdoors trip. It's for someone who simply wants to catch a few sights before heading back to the office job.

The Talon is designed for those out there that might want to experience more of the wilderness. It's designed in such a way that you'll have no problem bringing a little bit more with you if you decide to out exploring.

We are Explorers

With many of the great features of the Atmos but in a smaller 28-litre format, the Manta should be your go-to for day hiking (or an ultra-minimalist overnighter if you’re that way inclined!).

The Big Outside

While it’s a little more daypack than I would choose with lighter loads, when you want a pack for hikes and adventures when you have to haul 15 to 25 pounds all day, there may not be a more comfortable choice than the Manta and Mira.
