Osprey Quasar vs Osprey Comet

While these Osprey backpacks are both made for daily commute, the Quasar fits the bill more are a travel pack while the Comet is a casual backpack. The differences notwithstanding, you can use either bag for a day hike since they have a versatile design with plenty of room for your necessities.

Find on both bags: padded laptop sleeve, internal organization pockets, side mesh pockets and blinker light attachments.

The main differences are:

  • External bungee cord on the Quasar for stashing your jacket. The Comet doesn’t have this feature.

  • Padded handle on the front of the Comet. The Quasar only has a top handle and no front handle.

  • The hip belt on the Comet can be removed completely; this isn’t possible with the Quasar.

Osprey Quasar vs Osprey Momentum

These two Osprey backpack models are quite different from each other.

The Quasar is a superb unisex commuter pack that can also fit well as a daypack for hikers. The bag is made of ripstop nylon pack cloth. It has a bladder type hydration system that allows you to place the tube's mouthpiece in a convenient location for you to drink. It also comes with a small hipbelt for extra support for the load at the hips when you are carrying a large load. The Quasar doesn’t come with rain protection.

Osprey Momentum is a men's biking pack with plenty of organization. It's made using coated nylon and is very comfortable to carry as its straps are made of foam and cutouts and mesh help with heat control and ventilation. The bag is designed with AirScape back system and is helmet compatible. As you can see, there are stark differences between the two packs.

Osprey Quasar vs Osprey Parsec

The Quasar and the Parsec contend on which one can carry heavy loads on a weekend hike.

While the Quasar is an awesome unisex commuter bag made of ripstop nylon pack cloth, the Parsec is a more ergonomic, more lightweight and sleeker model of Osprey's 24/7 series of backpacks. This series of packs are known for having safe and well-padded storage for laptops/tablets.

But the Quasar seems to have more organization perks and a convenient hydration system.

This is why the Quasar is more useful as a daypack for hikers while the Parsec is perfect for carrying heavy books, electronics gym clothes, and other loads around the city.
