If you are in need of lightweight travel bag, then these two are the suitable choices for you. Both Patagonia MLC and Timbuk2 wingman are praised for being lightweight, and for their easy to carry designs.

The Timbuk2 Wingman is duffel bag which doubles as a backpack. Patagonia is a legal carry on pack meaning that you can carry it along to your seat if you are on the airplane.

The Wingman has removable shoulder straps and a secured padded pocket where you can carry your laptop. Patagonia's main zippered compartment, on the other hand, opens like a book and has two compartments that allow for easy packing. It also has two small zippered pockets for essentials and another one with a key-clip where you can keep your tickets and passports.
